Creating a Compelling Award

This strategy will involve the creation, promotion and positioning of the PGA as a credible and prestigious world class
award. It will enable NETFUND to endear the Award to both strategic partners and customers. A sound reputation will
give the PGA the credibility to build sustainable partnerships and attract the funding and subscriptions that will make
it self-financing.

Building Strategic Partnerships and Alliances

This strategy will involve collaborating, affiliating and building alliances with global environmental bodies and consortiums.
This will enable the PGA to become part of the global consortium providing 'green' credentials for fair trade.

Communicating Effectively

This will involve developing and implementing targeted communication to increase environmental management
awareness. The specific environmental categories are illustrated in table 1 below:

Award entries will be judged along three broad themes:

  • Environmental protection
  • Natural resource management
  • Innovation in energy resources

Awards

The winners will receive: Trophies, Cash and/ or in- kind prizes, and Certificates. Award recipients will be announced
at the PGAs Gala night on Earth Day , the location and date will be communicated later.

Organizers

The PGA brings together various players in environment in a partnership that seeks to permanently impact the state of
Kenya's environment. These include:

  • National Environment Trust Fund (NETFUND)
  • National Environment Management Authority (NEMA)
  • Public Complaints Committee (PCC)
  • Wildlife Clubs of Kenya (WCK)
  • National Council of Community Based Organizations (NCCBOs)
  • Kenya Secondary School Heads Associations (KSSHA)
  • Kenya Primary School Heads Associations (KPSHA)
  • Kenya Scouts Association (KSA)

NETFUND has set aside donations for prizes and awards for exemplary services to the environment and therefore
wishes to call for nominations of individuals and entities that ensure best practices are adopted, sustained and replicated.
