NETFUND Incubation Programme awarded the 2017/2018 top challenger award for Africa in Toronto, Canada
NETFUND’s
incubation programme has been recognized and ranked one of the best
incubation centres in Africa. During the World Incubation Summit
organized by University Business incubation (UBI), the NETFUND
incubation programme was awarded the Top Challenger Award for Africa.
This is in recognition of the impact and performance of the programme
in comparison to its peers regionally. The award is proof of
NETFUND’s effort in delivering value to budding Kenyan
entrepreneurs.
The high profiled summit is organized annually for university-linked business incubators and accelerators connected to the UBI Global network. The 2018 summit focused on recognizing the best performing incubation program as part of the 2017-2018 World Benchmark Study sponsored by Cisco.
The
summit also focuses on developing corporate incubation partnerships
and best practices.
The UBI Global ranking and recognition given to the best incubators and accelerators increases their visibility and chances of funding.
NETFUND Projects Manager, Chrispine Omondi, inspects a production machine for processing mango flakes at Kitui Development Promotion Centre (KDC) in late 2017. KDC is one of the innovations that benefited from NETFUND incubation programme.
The
NETFUND incubation Centre has supported other innovations such as
Magiro Mini-Hydro Electricity Company, Sweet N’ Dried and others,
which have been recognized and awarded by development agencies.
